The airline said all 132 passengers and crew on board were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.

“Assistance has been rendered to the affected passengers wherein meals and accommodations are provided, as well as arrangement to the next available flight.

“The airline deeply regrets for any inconvenience caused to the passengers who are affected by the incident,” Malindo said in a statement.

The airline added that it took the safety of its passengers and employees very seriously and that it had taken immediate measures to rectify and investigate the incident.

Aviation website, airlive.net, posted two still images and a short video of the Boeing 737-900 showing the passengers were evacuated via the right hand rear exit emergency slide.
